Christian Aid Week 12 – 18 May We will be doing door to door collecting again this year.  Please sign up for a road.  At a time when there are so many wars and refugees the world over, Christian Aid is desperate for funds – our collecting is very important.  Please volunteer to collect.

Ruth’s Ordination and First Eucharist 15th & 16th June  Please use the cards provided to pray for Ruth as she prepares to be Ordained Priest at Chester Cathedral. There is a list at the back of church to sign if you’d like a lift to Chester for the service (or if you can offer spaces in your car) and another one to sign to let us know you can come to the Bring and Share Lunch after the Sunday morning service and whether you will be bringing a savoury or sweet dish.

Pentecost Service in Christian Aid Week – Sunday, 19th May 3.00pm at Hill Cliffe Baptist Church As we celebrate the Birthday of the Church and pray for the work of Christian Aid.

Growing Good  Our ‘Growing Good’ course continues and if you’ve missed any so far that’s fine, you can still come along.  Each session will be no more than an hour and a half : 12noon at St. Thomas’ every Tuesday and 7.30pm at St. Mary Magdalene’s every Wednesday until 21 / 22 May.  The course includes video clips and small group discussion, helping our churches explore the connections between social action, discipleship and growth.  You can find out more at growing-good.org.uk

PLEASE NOTE Parish Hundred Club will be a week later in May, changed to 25 May so it doesn’t clash with our Quiet Day.

Church Notices

Lifts to Church  We are aware that there are people who would come to our services but don’t have their own transport.  If you would be willing to give a lift to one of your fellow worshippers, please speak to Michael.

Eco Tip  Steam your veggies and retain more of their nutrients.  If you do boil, try using the leftover water as a tasty stock for soups or base for gravy or let it cool and use it to water plants. Sheila
