Bible Explorers
Bible Explorers has an emphasis on story, singing and activity, and starts at the Church Hall at 10.45am. We encourage parents of confident and independent children not to stay with them at Bible Explorers but to join us in church instead for the Parish Communion service (a chance to spend an hour of calm and reflection before the week begins!) but if preferred you are welcome to stay with your child and join in all the activities in the hall. Bible Explorers will last around 45 minutes then the children will be brought back over to church for a blessing and ‘show and tell’ at the end of the service.
Children’s Praise is our entirely new service of intergenerational worship, held in the Church Hall at the same time as the more formal Parish Communion is held in church. We’ll have informal worship with lots of singing, an accessible prayer time, drinks, snacks and crafts. With an emphasis on inclusive worship, getting to know each other better in a relaxed atmosphere and learning more about Jesus and why we come to church however old we are, the service will last about an hour.
Come to the Table services in church are held on the first Sunday of the month at 10.45am at St. Thomas’ Church (on that Sunday there won’t be a Church Hall based activity). This is our pared down, more interactive Family Communion service where we encourage children and young people to take part in helping to lead, read and pray, and where the usual Sermon is replaced with a children’s talk. As with all our services, refreshments are served afterwards which is a great chance to get to know the other members of our extended church family.
